Centre Corse

The villages of u Poghju di Venacu, a Riventosa and a Casanova, formerly part of the pieve of Venacu, are located halfway up the slope between the Cardu massif and the Tavignani fiuminale. They are located between piaghja and muntagna, halfway along the traditional transhumance routes of the goat and sheep herds. A land of pastoral tradition, this micro-region still bears witness to its agropastoral past. Today's world is changing rapidly and we will soon have forgotten the traditional ways of life of our ancestors, which are nevertheless rich in lessons. The Heritage Trail links these three historic communities in the centre of the island. It takes the walker into the daily lives of their inhabitants, discovering a rich, original and often unknown heritage.
