Cuttoli-Cortichiato

Today a place for walking and discovery, the Cutuli è Curtichjatu Heritage Trail had, in the past, a different vocation. Since the early Middle Ages, the first part of the itinerary was a mule track which, from a Foci di San Ghjorghju, led to a Foci di Vizzavona. It served as a communication axis between Pumonti and Cismonte. It was undoubtedly this path that Samperu Corsu took in January 1567 and Boswell, two centuries later. A structuring element of the rural space, it allowed exchanges between communities and villages. It also led to the water mills, built on the banks of the Funtanaccia stream, later renamed "Fiumi di i mulini". The traditional dry stone walls lining the path, the steps, the paving, remain as fragile testimonies of the past. Through this path, visitors are invited to go back in time and immerse themselves in the life and memory of a community.
