Santa Riparata was the parish church of Merusaglia for centuries. The baptism of Pasquale Paoli was celebrated there on 7 April 1725. Poorly served and inconveniently accessible, Santa Riparata was gradually abandoned in favour of the conventual church of San Francescu, which today serves as the parish. The building is listed as a Historic Monument.

The church has an elongated plan, 7 m wide and 17.50 m long. It consists of a single nave, covered with a wooden framework, ending in the east with a semi-circular apse with a cul-de-four vault. The gable roof is covered with slate. Numerous carved stones are used in the walls of this building. The oldest ones, which may date from the 7th century, come from the original church. The monolithic tympanum of the entrance portal can be dated to the 13th century. It is decorated with a carved motif in relief representing two intertwined snakes biting their tails. The date 1550, engraved on several stones, notably on the tympanum of the entrance, indicates a major work campaign, perhaps a reconstruction of the building. The wall-belfry was probably built at this time. On the main facade, a large window, opened in the 18th century, bears witness to the influence of the Italian Baroque. In the 1780s, the church was enlarged with the construction of two side chapels in the north and south walls. Santa Riparata preserves two remarkable altarpieces painted on wood, classified as Historic Monuments. The first, which adorned the high altar, dates from the 16th century. It was largely repainted in the 18th century by the Corsican painter Francesco Carli. The second altarpiece, which is currently kept in the convent, is dated 1527. The monumental paintings that adorn the baptismal font were made by Ignazio Saverio Raffalli, a stucco artist and painter from Pedicroce, active in the second half of the 18th century.
