Chjosu supranu

Facing the village of Guaitella and the Campu plateau, this viewpoint offers an unobstructed panorama of the eastern coast, the Chjurlinu lake, as well as Bastia and Cardo. Two territories separated by the rocky promontory of Pietrabugno which gave its name to the commune. The remains of a small medieval watchtower still dominate the Fiuminale (u Fangu) valley. "Quarrels between bell towers According to a local legend from the distant past, it was during the Maundy Thursday procession from Cardo to Ville (and vice versa) that a fight broke out between the two brotherhoods below the Pietrabugno tower. In the confusion, the two crucifixes, which were more or less the same, were inverted. Since that day, there have been no more processions between the two communities, which have nevertheless remained very friendly. Chjurlinu This pond has been classified as a nature reserve since 1994. With a surface area of 1450 hectares, it is managed by the services of the Collectivité de Corse. An important reservoir of biodiversity, it is home to more than 250 species of birds and nearly 350 plants. It is a wetland of international importance. An eco-museum welcomes the public to the site.
