A stretta di i mulini

Nowadays, the Cutuli è Curtichjatu Heritage Trail is a place for walking and discovery, but in the past it had a different vocation. Since the early Middle Ages, the first part of the itinerary was a mule track which, from a Foci di San Ghjorghju, led to a Foci di Vizzavona. It served as an axis of communication between pumonti and cismonte. It was undoubtedly this path that Sampieru Corsu took in January 1567 and Boswell, two centuries later. A structuring element of the rural space, it allowed exchanges between communities and villages. It also led to the water mills, built on the banks of the Funtanaccia stream, later renamed "Fiumi di i mulini". The traditional dry stone walls lining the path, the steps, the paving, remain as fragile testimonies of the past. Through this path, visitors are invited to go back in time by immersing themselves in the life and memory of a community.
