Start of the Corte trail

From the hamlet of Baliri, the Corte Heritage Trail invites you to discover an original aspect of Corte. The route first follows a mule track along the Tavignanu, and crosses areas that were once extensively developed, as evidenced by the numerous remains of orchards, vegetable gardens, walls, cultivation terraces and mills' reaches, visible along the way. It then climbs towards the old town and its belvedere, suspended in the slope. From Roman antiquity, through the Moorish invasions, the struggles of the Middle Ages and those of the modern era, with family or friends, the visitor will follow in the footsteps of past civilisations and great men, who have made Corte an essential part of Corsican history.
