Biassa

Not far from the capital La Spezia, reached by an easy road through woods and breathtaking views, leading to the Cinque Terre, is the farming village of Biassa. Our itinerary through the places of traditions and emergencies of Ligurian ethnography brings us here for a very specific reason. At the "Giovanni Podenzana" museum, which acts as the driving force behind this La Spezia itinerary in search of our past, a number of typical clothes of the period are preserved, of fine workmanship. Well, the great production centre of these particular clothes, sought after throughout the area, was Biassa itself. Even today, this splendid village lets us breathe in an ancient air suspended in time. Its alleys, its stairways, its little church square, almost protected as if in a casket from the intrusiveness of motorisation and modern civilisation, take us back in time. A time of more human values, of course of many difficulties, but also of more supportive relationships. Obviously today, Biassa is perfectly in step with our times, but it still gives the attentive visitor the sensation of being able to go back to a time gone by.
