Cone-shaped little house

Just outside Cervo, as you enter the beautiful surrounding countryside, your attention will be drawn to a strange construction with a very unusual roof shape, namely an inverted cone. What is this strange structure? In ancient times, farmers and breeders had to spend a lot of time out in the fields. It was therefore necessary to have structures that were easy to build, but solid enough and well sheltered enough to protect from the weather and provide a foothold. So this is what our cone-shaped house in Cervo is all about: first and foremost, it is a beautiful and quite rare testimony to an ancient building skill that has probably been completely lost today. This is a rare example of ancient peasant wisdom, capable of making a lot out of almost nothing. In fact, there are still very few examples of these structures left in the whole of Liguria.
