Départ Sainte-Lucie de Tallano

The heritage trail allows you to discover the rich past of the commune of Santa Lucia di Tallà. It takes us from the centre of the village through one of the olive groves that bear witness to this culture at the heart of the commune's economy; olive oil has made its reputation and fame. Several producers continue to perpetuate this tradition. Every year, a fair dedicated to the olive tree is held in the village. After leaving the square and the large fountain, the path climbs towards Sant'Andria. This hamlet has kept the traces of its medieval origin. A torra, a fortified house, bears witness to the tormented history of Corsica. Built to protect the population, it still stands facing the Rizzanesi valley. After leaving this beautiful hamlet, you reach the restored fountain and washhouse below, where women used to come to fetch water and wash their clothes every day. Then, the path crosses an olive grove still in use. The Fragnonu paddle mill, at the end of the path, can be visited. It has been completely restored and shows all the stages of olive oil production.
