MC20 CARMI - Carrara and Michelangelo Museum - Carrara

The CARMI - Museo Carrara e Michelangelo is located in Villa Fabbricotti in the 19th century building in the Parco della Padula in Carrara. The exhibition project on the piano nobile is part of an overall project to restore and redevelop the Villa Fabbricotti and Padula Park, financed by the Region of Tuscany and launched in 2011. The new museum complex is on three levels, with a permanent exhibition on the main floor focusing on the work of Michelangelo. Surrounding the Villa is Padula Park, which now features environmental artworks created for the 11th Sculpture Biennial in 2002, where the landscape becomes a dynamic space revisited in a contemporary key through the integration of environment and territory with the works of internationally renowned artists such as Merz, Mainolfi, Parmeggiani and Morris.
