PI12 Museum of Graphic Arts in the Palazzo Lanfranchi of Pisa

Founded in 1958 through the initiative of Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti, this is a collection of contemporary graphic art connected with intensive exhibition activities in various national and international sites. It offers visitors the opportunity to consult rich bibliographic and archival documentation, from the 1950s through the 1970s. The collection is composed of four principal nuclei: the Sebastiano Timpanaro collection, donated in 1957; works donated by artists; a series of prints kept in perpetual deposit by the National Calcography Institute of Rome; and the Giulio Carlo Argan collection (600 works, comprising engravings and drawings). The engravings include works by Giovanni Fattori, Luigi Bartolini, Giorgio De Chirico, Massimo Carrà, Giorgio Morandi and others, as well as the nucleus of drawings by the Futurist architect Mario Chiattone.
