LU34 Paolo Cresci Museum for the History of Italian Emigration

The 'Museo Paolo Cresci per la storia dell’emigrazione italiana' tells the story of Italian immigration from 1860 to 1960. The Paolo Cresci Museum for the History of Italian Emigration is located in the Palazzo Ducale of Lucca, more precisely in the Cappellina di Santa Maria della Misericordia and adjacent rooms. The Museum brings together a substantial contribution to the understanding of an important chapter in the history of Italy: letters, diaries, documents and photographs belonging to everyday life, the richest collection of existing documents on Italian emigration.
