LU23 Church of San Salvatore di San Lorenzo in Vaccoli

Codex 49 of the Chapter Library of the 8th century mentions a number of buildings scattered throughout the diocese of Lucca, "among them San Salvatore in Vaccoli". It is worth wandering through the streets of the old part of the village, among pots of geraniums and cats resting in the sun, to discover this small fragment of history. A small oratory within the town centre, part of the urban fabric, the church was restored in 2007 by the residents themselves.
