LU22 Church of Santo Stefano Protomartire – Pozzuolo

From its hilltop position, the village of Pozzuolo dominates a large part of the panorama of the plain of Lucca. The most beautiful views can be seen from the churchyard of the church of Santo Stefano Protomartire. The present church, simple, compact and austere, dates back to the 17th century. Of the ancient structure, the façade and other parts of the wall face still show white limestone ashlars, while the rest is covered by an ochre-coloured plaster.
