LU05 Roman Massaciuccoli

While today it is fairy remote, Massaciuccoli was once an important town in Roman Versilia. It was linked by land and water to Pisa, Lucca, Luni and the landings on the coast between the Arno and Magra rivers. Already frequented by the Etruscans, in Roman times Massaciuccoli was chosen for the construction of prestigious buildings that took advantage of the splendid natural landscape offered by the hills, the lake and, in the distance, the sea.
