LI31 The Etruscan Museum of Populonia, Gasparri Collection

The Etruscan Museum of Populonia, Gasparri Collection, brings together the archaeological findings of the private collection of the Gasparri family, proprietors of the lands of Baratti and Populonia, where, during the first half of the twentieth century several Etruscan necropoli were brought to light. The museum is located inside the Castle of Populonia, a small town within the municipal jurisdiction of Piombino, in the province of Livorno. The Etruscan Museum of Populonia is the oldest museum of the Val di Cornia: it was opened in 1943, on the wishes of Giulia and Tommaso Gasparri.
