LI03 Oasis of the Countess

The Regional Nature Reserve 'Oasi della Contessa' is a protected natural area in Tuscany. It occupies an area of 89 hectares in the province of Livorno, 22 of which are wetlands, which bear historical evidence to the ancient system of coastal lowland marshes. The remaining area of the reserve was reclaimed during the 1980s. The Nature Reserve can be reached from the entrance to the Estate located in Via Aiaccia (Stagno), where it is possible to access the car park and the meeting point with the guide. The protected area covers about 22 hectares of wetland with a nature trail of about 2.5 km, along with 2 large huts for birdwatching and nature photography and 4 screened observation points.
