GR18 Maremma Regional Park

The territory of the Maremma Regional Park extends across nearly 18,000 hectares. It was declared a protected area in June, 1975, and has the status of the first Regional Park founded in Tuscany. The natural landscape of the Park is characterized by a variety of ecosystems, where an incredible amount of plant and animal species find their ideal habitat: the dunes, the Mediterranean scrub, the holm-oak groves and the pinewood areas, up to and including humid zones and lowland areas.
