GR02 The Archaeological Area of Roselle

The Archaeological Park of Roselle is situated in an environmental context of exceptional beauty. It hosts highly esteemed cultural events and educational initiatives with great appeal for tourists, and is a particularly safe place to visit during the current pandemic crisis. The area of Roselle, frequented since pre- and proto-historic times, became structured as an urban centre in the seventh century BCE. At the midpoint of the succeeding century it was provided with massive city walls, tracing an irregular circuit of more than three kilometers. Within these walls, an area of around 40 hectares was almost entirely available for public use.
