This humpback bridge (formed by two inclined slopes on each side), which may date from the Middle Ages, was built on one of the most important roads on the island, linking Bastia, Corte and Ajaccio. On the upper part, the masonry was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. This monument is registered as a Historic Monument.

This humpback bridge (formed by two inclined slopes on each side) was built on one of the most important roads on the island, linking Bastia, Corti and Aiacciu. It is made up of four arches of unequal size, the one in the centre being the widest and highest and measuring 14 metres in length. The oldest parts are made of local green stone, bonded and filled with lime mortar. The rest of the building is made of rubble and pebble masonry, except for the entablatures, supports and arches, which are made of ashlar and tuff. The parapets are corbelled on basket-handle arches, resting on ashlar corbels. This development corresponds to a widening of the bridge after the French conquest, at the end of the 18th century, to allow the passage of troops and carriages (including cannons). The bridge piers, in the shape of a spur, downstream and upstream, are crowned by stepped glacis backed by buttresses. The arcades and the base of the deck may date from the Middle Ages. On the upper part, the masonry was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. The abutments, located at the ends of the bridge, were built in 1836 to reduce the steepness of the deck.
