"Via delle Botteghe"

Toirano is crossed longitudinally, in all its length, by a road that gives back all the medieval flavor of the village. Its toponymic name is Via Parodi, but it is also known as "Via delle Botteghe" (Street of the Workshops), precisely because it was the location of the town's main businesses and some of the town's most important aristocratic buildings. In fact, the Palazzo del Vescovo is of considerable artistic value, recognizable by the beautiful fourteenth-century loggia, and which, as the name suggests, was the official residence of the Bishop of Albenga during his not infrequent presence in Toirano. No less beautiful and interesting is Palazzo Durante, with its important square stone façade. Crossing "Via delle Botteghe", especially when it is not yet crowded with people, is a way to travel with the mind to a distant past of extraordinary charm. Looking up, getting lost in the elegant facades, in the everlasting shadows of their heights, while seeming to be transported back through the centuries, is a unique experience.
